Understanding the Intersection Between Domestic Violence, Mental Health, & the End of Relationships
This session explores the complex relationship between domestic violence (DV), mental health, and the termination of intimate relationships. It is designed for individuals who may encounter survivors or perpetrators of DV in their professional settings. After the training, attendees will better be able to define what domestic violence is, identify the spectrum of DV-related abusive behaviors, increase their awareness about why acts of DV occur, learn helpful and unhelpful ways to respond if/when survivors disclose that they have experienced DV, and evaluate important myths and facts associated with DV.
